Who is Elon Musk?

Elon Musk is an American entrepreneur, businessman and investor. He is working to revolutionize the entire world. He is the fifth richest man in the world (according to Forbes in July 2020). He co-founded PayPal, formed SpaceX, started his own artificial intelligence company OpenAI and now he is working to link artificial intelligence with the human brain.

Biography-

Elon Musk was born on June 28, 1971, Pretoria, South Africa. His father name was Errol Musk who was an Engineer and Pilot, he was from South Africa. His mother name was Maye Musk who was a model and dietician, she was from Canada. He liked reading books and at the age of 10 only he had read thousands of books. He was a book worm and from books only he started discovering programming language. At the age of 12, he created his own video game 'Blastar' and sold it to a computer magazine for $500.

In 1988, Musk left South Africa and moved to the United States because he was unwilling to support Apartheid through compulsory Military Service and found more opportunities in the United States.

His Education-

He started his graduation from Queen University and after 2 years he transferred to the University Of Pennsylvania, where he received his bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Economics in the year 1995. To complete his PhD degree he shifted to Stanford University, California. He left after 2 days only because he wanted to do something new.

His Companies-

In the same year, 1995 Elon and his brother Kimbal launched a company Zip2, a company that provided maps and business directories to online newspapers. Elon was young (24 years old) so the Board of Directors decided not to make him CEO of the company. In 1999 the market crashed and the company was bought by computer manufacturer Compaq for $307 million, and Elon got $22 million.

After getting $22 million he could have enjoyed his life just by staying at home and no work. But he was not like others, he invested all his money for his future projects. In the same year, he founded online financial company X.com which later merged with Confinity and know it is known as Paypal. Yes, Elon is the founder of PayPal.

Later in the year 2002, eBay bought PayPal for $1.5 billion. And Elon got $165 million.

After getting so much money he did not stop. Now he was thinking that resources are in the fixed amount on earth and will end one day. So he thought that we must find life on multi planets. For this, he decided to go to Mars. He went to Russia to get rockets so that he could go to Mars, but the price was too high. Then he came back to the U.S. and decided to make his own Reusable Rockets. Nobody supported him. But he never thought what people think, if he wanted to do anything he starts doing it. He started studying books to get knowledge of Rocket-Science. He learnt everything about it from books only and in 2002 he founded Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) to make affordable reusable rockets. Now he had made his rockets and now it was time for launch, during launch his rocket's engine caught fire and he failed this time. But he tried again, worked hard but their second rocket also failed, after reaching space it didn't enter the orbit and got off route. But he never stopped trying, made his third rocket but he was again unlucky, now when the rocket reached the space it got off-route. He failed for the third time, he had no money to make his fourth rocket. He nearly went bankrupt. But he made a crazy announcement that the company is going to launch his fourth rocket in a few months. He took loans, sold his house and all his property for his fourth rocket. He risked everything. But this time his rocket launch became successful. He also got projects from NASA.

His never giving up attitude made him a successful man. In 2003 Musk started working in the Tesla company. He wanted to make electric cars and started working on this project. In 2008 he became the CEO of the company. Now he had made his first electrical vehicle but the cost was double of what he expected. Nobody bought the vehicle since the cost was so high. Now he tried again during the second attempt price got slightly down but in the third attempt, the cost was reasonable which boosted its selling.

He faced many failures but never failed to try again. For him, a failure is an option. In 2006 he helped his cousin by providing financial capital to start the company 'Solar City'. This worked on sustainable energy creation. And Tesla electric cars worked on energy consumption.

From 2016 SolarCity is working under Tesla company. 

In December 2015, He started an Artificial intelligence company, OpenAI.

In 2016, he became the founder of Neuralink. This company is working to link artificial intelligence with the human brain.

Elon Musk's Neuralink, developing brain-machine interfaces, chips to implant in brains.

These chips will help you to control machines without any physical interaction, just with the power of thought.

He is working for the betterment of humanity.

For, him the problem is not the problem but finding a solution is the biggest problem.
