But what all these thoughts are about?
Are they helping you to live a life that you deserve? Or are they ruining your life?

Overthinking will never help you to live a Healthy Lifestyle.

Before finding the solutions we must know what the real problem is and why are we facing it.

Why do I Overthink?

There are many reasons why you overthink, some of them I am listing below.

Overthinking

You think worrying is productive

This is the most common reason why most people overthink. You believe that overthinking and worrying is productive.

You think that these thoughts are helping you to prepare for all the different scenarios that are coming in your head. But this is not the truth, as long as you believe that these thoughts are productive you are not going to come out of overthinking. 

You are afraid of regret                         

Most people don't make a decision in their life because they are afraid of the outcome. You are having a fear of failure and if you don't make a decision in your life you will never learn anything. 

Failure is a part of success. While making decisions people waste their time spending many hours by asking themselves the question 'what if..........'. You are afraid of making the wrong decisions because you don't want to regret it later. This will lead to overthinking which will waste your time and will kill your happiness.

Mental Diarrhoea

If your mind is constantly producing thoughts which are giving you unpleasantness then you are suffering from mental diarrhoea. This is same as physical diarrhoea which you get by eating bad food. Similarly, you get mental diarrhoea when you consume something wrong.

Here consuming wrong means you are identifying yourself with the things which you are not. You are surrounded by negative people. Until and unless you are not going to change your surroundings you are going to suffer from it.

Effects of overthinking

Thinking is useful but thinking too much is dangerous. Here are some effects of overthinking.

Anxiety

Your thoughts create emotions, no matter if it's of grief, anger or fear. Extremely anxious people are over thinkers. They have created so many possible scenarios in their mind about what is going to happen next.

Worrying about the future prevents you to enjoy the present moment. Too much anxiety can make you miserable. It can also lead to suicides.

Depression

Overthinking can lead to Depression. While anxiety comes from worrying about the future, depression is the outcome of being stuck in the past.

It is a psychiatric disorder which can result in suicides. According to study 1 in every 10 men suffer from depression. It is a serious disorder and must be treated carefully.

Insomnia

Have you ever experienced that you want to sleep but because of your mind which is constantly producing thoughts you are not able to sleep? Not only you but millions of people are facing this problem.

This is one of the worst effects of overthinking. This is dangerous because proper sleep is required for the well functioning of the body and if you don't take proper sleep you will not be healthy.

How to stop overthinking?

Do you want to stop your mind?
Stopping your mind isn't the solution. And that will only happen after you stop your kidney, liver, heart. Now, do you want to stop it? I think now no one wants to stop it. 

If your mind was constantly producing pleasantness for you, would you like to stop it?
No never.
It's producing a lot of unpleasantness that's why you want to stop it.

Now your mind is not in your control and it's a matter of concern. Your mind should not be telling it's all stories all the time but it should tell the stories that you wanted to tell.

But don't worry I have some tips for you which will help you to overcome overthinking and help your mind to produce pleasantness for you. 

Live in present

Living in present is one of the best ways to stop overthinking. Don't be stupid by thinking about the past. Now you can't change what has happened but you can learn from your mistakes and this will help you to live a quality life. Thinking about the past will waste your time and kill your happiness.

Nature 

Spending time in nature is one of the best and easiest ways to stop overthinking and worrying. You must spend at least half an hour in nature. Nature is the best healer and absorber of negativity. It will help you to cope up with stress, depression, anxiety and will boost your efficiency. It will bring positivity to your life.

Positive Surrounding

Spend your time with positive people, people who value you, care about you. This will increase your energy and efficiency. This will help you to stay positive and motivated. Stay away from toxic people and toxic relationship because they are only trying to put you down. Your surrounding also plays a vital role in achieving your goals. If you will spend time with positive people you will be able to see the changes in your life.

Ignore Negativity

You must ignore all the negative thoughts which are coming in your mind. Let me tell you an eg.
Sometimes a little child who gets just a little hurt starts crying aloud. If the mother pays attention to it the child cries louder. But if she ignores the child knowing that there is nothing serious the child crying slowly dies down. Exactly if we pay attention to negative thoughts it gets louder but if we try to ignore, it slowly dies down.

Meditation

You must do meditation every day not because it is good for you and you should. But because it will help you to get what you want. It also helps you to control your mind. Don't be discouraged when you can't stay focused in the beginning. Simply stay disciplined and continue to practice.

Doing all these things will help you to stop overthinking and worrying.
